Case description

The appellant is charged with several offences against two children. A trial diet has called on three occasions: November 2023; September 2024 and June 2025. On each occasion, the trial has had to be adjourned due to insufficient court capacity. Following the adjournment of the third trial diet, the Crown moved to extend the time bar for the date by which the trial must commence to 10 October 2025. The appellant opposed that motion; however, the sheriff granted it. The appellant appeals against that decision.
