Accessibility statement for the Digital Expenses Payment System (DEPS)

About this accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) Digital Expenses Payment System (DEPS).

The DEPS site is run by SCTS. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the form using just a keyboard
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

We’ve also made the form text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible is this site

We are aware that the following issue may impact on the accessibility of the form:

  • For Talkback screen reader users on Android devices selecting a month for the submission of dates may be skipped when swiping through the form inputs. This may result in errors appearing on the page and require the user to repeat the input of information.
  • PDF documents of evidence forms are present throughout the form. These documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software.

Compliance status

SCTS is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

The DEPS site is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Specific form inputs such as Month selection for date submission may not be included in the focus order of elements for Talkback screen reader users on Android devices.

This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.3 (Focus Order).

Please note: This is a known issue for Android devices, and we plan to monitor for any future updates to the operating system which may resolve this issue.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

Some older PDF documents and Word documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software. You can request an accessible version or alternative format of any document by contacting us.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
