Update: Red Weather Warning – SCTS arrangements for Friday 24 January

We are planning on normal business resuming on Monday 27 January. However, a programme of inspections will take place on all our buildings within the affected storm areas on Saturday 25 January. An update will be provided as soon as possible thereafter through social media and on our website.

The Met Office have issued a Red Weather Warning for parts of Scotland for tomorrow (Friday 24 January).

The warning for wind has been issued for Dumfries and Galloway, the Scottish Borders, all of Strathclyde, Lothians and Borders, and southern parts of Fife and Forth Valley. The red warning is expected to be in place from 1000 until 1700 tomorrow.

All SCTS buildings in a Red Weather Warning Area, or in close proximity, will be closed for all of Friday 24 January. The full list of buildings being closed for Friday.

This will ensure all those who work in or use our buildings do not need to be on the premises during the period covered by the red warning.

We are planning on normal business resuming on Monday 27 January however please check the SCTS website and social media for any further updates prior to visiting those buildings on Monday.

Amber or Yellow Weather Warning area

Amber weather warnings are also in place for large parts of Scotland on Friday, with yellow warnings in place for Friday and Saturday

As courts and tribunals are essential public services they continue to operate in areas where an amber weather warning is in force.  However, we have taken the decision to close several courts in close proximity to the red zones as a number of staff and justice partners in these areas may need to travel through red zones to attend work.

We ask all users of our buildings to take care, keep safe and take heed of Met Office advice during weather warnings.
