Anyone attending court this afternoon is being urged to plan ahead given the disruption that is likely to be caused by Storm Dudley. People are being asked to check local arrangements at the courts which may be changed to ensure people get home safely
Storm Dudley is expected to affect Scotland from this afternoon and in to Thursday, bringing a period of very strong and disruptive winds.
It is anticipated that high winds associated with Storm Dudley will bring damage and travel disruption between 14:00 on Wednesday 16 February and 09:00 on Thursday 17 February.
This will be followed by a second named storm, Storm Eunice, which is expected to bring strong winds and snow on Friday.
Eric McQueen, Chief Executive of the Scottish Court and Tribunals Service, said: “The safety of all those using our courts is of the upmost importance. As a result of the Amber warnings issued by the Met Office for large parts of the country some court business may be completed early in the affected areas, it is therefore best to check with the court if you are due to attend this afternoon. In line with Scottish Government advice we further urge everyone to plan their journeys in advance and to keep an eye on travel and weather updates throughout the day.”
