Statement on Kilmarnock by SCTS

Dec 23, 2020

A number of staff at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court have tested positive for coronavirus and we wish them a speedy recovery. As the cases were notified we liaised closely with the  NHS Ayrshire and Arran Health Protection Team. Today Environmental Health officials visited the court. They are assured by all the safety measures in place, including enhanced cleaning and physical distancing.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court remains fully open, operating in a safe environment, with risks being properly managed.

Over time we know that some complacency and to a certain extent fatigue can creep in. There have been instances of individuals failing to physically distance or wear a face covering. The key message remains for everyone who comes to any of our courts or buildings - be personally vigilant and follow all of the safety measures to help prevent transmission.

We appreciate this is an anxious time but one where we can all contribute to a better outcome. If you have a concern please raise immediately with the sheriff clerk or court staff so it can be addressed.

FACTS: Face coverings. Avoid crowded spaces, Clean your hands regularly, Two metre distance, Self-isolate and book a test.
