A new website for the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland (MHTS) has recently launched.

The Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland website has been improved and updated to make it easier for users to navigate and more accessible.

The updated website, which is used by service users, stakeholders across the mental health care and treatment community and the Tribunal’s members now includes:

·       A new dedicated hearings guidance section which provides clear guidance on what to expect before, during, and after a hearing.  

·       Enhanced venue information, including site plans or photographs in some cases to assist in finding the correct buildings for hearings.

·       Updated applications and appeals guidance outlining potential roles for family members and friends of service users, offering greater clarity and support.

·       Improved Tribunal decisions access. A new searchable and filterable table replaces the previous format, improving both visibility and usability when accessing decisions.

·       A new glossary and refreshed FAQs to support individuals who may be navigating a complex or challenging situation for the first time.

President of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland Laura Dunlop said: “The look and feel of the new website is very different, however we hope that users will find the changes to be of benefit and, importantly, the new site complies with accessibility standards. Changes made will make it easier for people to find the tab they are looking for and gain information once they arrive at the right page.”
