Return to one-metre distancing and updated courts and tribunals guidance

In response to the latest public health advice, we will move from two metres back to one metre physical distancing in SCTS buildings, with effect from today (Monday 31 January 2022).

These changes, announced on the 25 January, supplement the strong baseline safety measures we already have in place and include: new guidance for court and tribunal users who need to come to our buildings; revised arrangements for business in the Supreme Courts; and updated guidance for our Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Courts users.

As has been the case throughout the pandemic, we rely on, and appreciate everyone’s ongoing co-operation to enable us to continue to support justice, despite the challenging circumstances that COVID-19 presents.

We will keep our approach under regular review in line with public health guidance and will provide updates as and when there are any developments or changes required.
