Scotland’s COVID-19 Protection Levels - Courts and Tribunals Open for business

Oct 29, 2020

New COVID protection levels will come into force across Scotland from Monday 2 November.  Scotland’s courts and tribunals will remain open for business under all 5 levels of the new Scottish Government framework, as the delivery of justice is regarded as “essential” under the new regulations.

Anyone required to travel to attend a court or tribunal hearing, including the accused, witnesses and jurors should continue to do so. Remote jury centres will continue to operate as the regulations make an explicit exception for SCTS use of premises such as cinemas.

From Monday, all our buildings remain open with existing hygiene, safety and physical distancing measures in place.

Please note at this time access to court and tribunal buildings is limited to only those directly concerned with the conduct of proceedings, or as directed by the judiciary.
