The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service Brexit Project Teams have been working closely with Scottish Government and justice organisations in planning for the different Brexit scenarios, focusing on the various operational impacts, changes to rules and contingency planning. Given the ever-changing nature of Brexit negotiations, this close working will continue for some time as we continually reassess the likely outcomes.
Scottish Government has recently published its ‘No Deal’ preparations which have no specific implications for courts or tribunals. It has also published two documents aimed at the legal profession, which mirror our understanding of the legislative position for cases commenced both before and after a ‘No Deal’ agreement.
