Doors open on sheriff courts

Aug 31, 2018

Courts from Aberdeen to Dumfries are opening up to the public during September as 15 courts across Scotland take part in the 2018 Doors Open Day event.

A variety of activities will be put on for visitors including tours, children's activities, mock trials and the always-popular visits to the cells and custody vans.

The courts taking part are: Aberdeen, Ayr, Dumfries, Dundee, Edinburgh, Forfar, Glasgow, Greenock, Hamilton, Inverness, Paisley, Perth, Stirling, the Supreme Courts in Parliament House Edinburgh and the High Court in Glasgow.

The Scotland-wide Doors Open Days, organised by the Scottish Civic Trust, enable people to visit hundreds of buildings normally closed to the public.

Details of the event can be found on the Doors Open Day website.
