Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal

Jun 04, 2018

The Lord President of the Court of Session wishes to appoint 5 non-lawyer members to the Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal (SSDT).

The SSDT is an independent body which deals with serious disciplinary issues within the Scottish legal profession. Non-lawyer members form an essential part of the SSDT. Successful applicants will be members of a tribunal which hear complaints of professional misconduct against individual solicitors and appeals in relation to unsatisfactory professional conduct findings made by the Law Society of Scotland. Successful applicants will, with solicitor members, participate in the decision-making process to consider matters referred to the SSDT.

Further information about the appointments and how to apply can be found on the Public Appointments website.
