Most decisions are given verbally by judges in court. Written decisions will usually be provided when a case involves:
- a matter of principle
- a particular point of general public importance
- a case where substantial evidence was heard.
When decisions are given in writing, they are published, ordered by the date of publication. A judge may rule that in the interest of justice, a particular case should not be published.
