The Training Unit
A small team trains the staff of the Court of Session and High Court of Justiciary. The team consists of one full time training officer who is stationed permanently within the Supreme Courts and two officers who are not but who have training responsibilities as part of their duties.
Some of the functions of the training department are
- co-ordination, preparation and delivery of developmental training;
- ensuring that training provided is cost effective;
- preparation and management of the training plan; and
- identifying training, which is required due to legislative changes (in consultation with senior department heads).
The training department also works closely with other organisations on various initiatives which seek to improve the service the Supreme Courts and Scottish Court Service provide.
