The Principal Clerk of Session and Justiciary is responsible for the administration, organisation and co-ordination of the work of the Court of Session, the High Court of Justiciary and the Court of Criminal Appeal, under the direction of the Lord President and Lord Justice General.
As head of the Scottish Court Service within the Supreme Courts, the Principal Clerk also has overall responsibility for the 188 staff of the Court of Session, the High Court and the Office of the Accountant of Court.
