The rack mounted Audio Visual Unit is capable of playing back:

  • Video Tapes - VHS, SVHS and MiniDV in both PAL and NTSC format
  • Audio cassettes
  • The output of a Laptop PC

The Document Camera (also known as a "Visualiser") can display:

  • Documents and Photographs up to A4 size
  • Three dimensional objects
  • X-Ray photographs

Vulnerable/ Remote Witness

Equipment The Vulnerable/Remote Witness Equipment is capable of displaying evidence from:

  • A witness situated in a dedicated witness suite within the courthouse
  • A witness situated in any suitably equipped remote location either in the UK or abroad

Hitech

"Hi-Tech" courtrooms have been set up with additional fixed viewing screens set into the jury box, by the witness stand and for the accused.

There is usually at least one large wall-mounted plasma screen to allow the public and practitioners in the well of the court to view images or video.

The number and location of screens will vary from court room to courtroom due to the differing layouts.

Videoconferencing

Solicitors are able to conduct videoconferencing interviews with clients who are in custody at HMP Barlinnie.

At this Court, a dedicated Videoconferencing Booth has been installed for this purpose.
