Introduction This is the first issue of a series of regular updates
on the progress of the West Lothian Civic Centre. Notice board Check out the Civic Centre website for the latest information

we will use the road shows that we are planning to hold next year to
address the issues you raise. It’s a reality Work on the West Lothian Civic Centre will start
in January 2007. The contract to appoint the
main contractor for the project - Laing O’Rourke – was signed in
December. It is expected that the Civic
Centre will become operational in summer 2009. Eric McQueen said: “We have
been talking about the West Lothian Civic Centre for the last two years.
Now, with work starting in just a few weeks, it is a reality. Co-locating and integrating our
services with partners will bring enormous benefits to the people of Project teams made up of
representatives co-locating in the Civic Centre are working in
partnership to maximise opportunities for sharing information and joint
working. Already, collaborative
systems improvement work is starting to reduce the end-to-end time of
criminal justice cases in The project teams will be
looking to build on this early success and extend to other areas of joint
working such as; community safety, roads safety, licensing, emergency
planning and protection of vulnerable persons. Where requested, staff are asked to work closely with project teams to
help deliver our partnership objectives.
