Justice Department
The Civil and International Group and the Judicial Appointments & Finance Division are part of the Scottish Government Justice Department.
Broadly speaking they:
- Administer appointments of the judiciary
- Deal with complaints against the judiciary
- Secure the efficient administration of justice in Scotland
- Are responsible for the development of policy for civil justice in Scotland and Private International Law
- Carry out Central Authority Functions for International Child Abduction and Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance
