Local Activities
During the unification process for Grampian Highland and Islands David Fraser, Sheriffdom Business Manager, and Lora Crabtree, Project manager, visited all the Sheriff Courts to provide awareness sessions on unification and fines enforcement. These sessions included colleagues from the District Courts. Comments from these sessions were fed back into the plans to manage the changes to Lay Justice, Fines Enforcement and Court Unification were implemented as smoothly as possible.
During the unification process further local activities were undertaken to inform staff about any changes that unification would bring and to promote a smooth transition into the new system. Here are a few examples: Exchange visits were set up between District and Sheriff Court staff. Work shadowing was set up for staff due to transfer over to SCS to allow all staff a better understanding of the work which will now be undertaken in the new unified courts structure. Meetings were arranged with all the relevant partner agencies to identify any issues that the unification process presented and to work through these and identify solutions as a team
