The Right Hon Lord Eassie (Ronald David Mackay)
Lord Eassie was appointed a Judge in 1997
He is a graduate of the Universities of St Andrews (MA) and Edinburgh (LLB) and was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates1 in 1972. From 1979 to 1982 Lord Eassie was an official of the Court of Justice of the European Communities, Luxembourg. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1986 and served as an Advocate Depute2 from 1986 to 1990. Between 2002 and 2006 he was Chairman of the Scottish Law Commission. He was appointed to the Inner House in October 2006.
