Simple Procedure survey

Aug 06, 2018

The Scottish Civil Justice Council’s Access to Justice Committee has commissioned a survey into the experiences of Simple Procedure party litigants as part of its review of the Simple Procedure Rules.

The survey, which has been commissioned from Professor Tom Mullen and Halle Turner of Glasgow University, is now available online via this link and the SCJC is inviting party litigants to complete it.

The research aims to obtain the views of party litigants – unrepresented persons pursuing and defending claims who have used Simple Procedure – in order to establish how accessible and usable the rules, forms and standard orders are from their perspective.

The findings will help inform the committee in relation to any changes that might need to be made to the forms to improve their usability and accessibility.
