Police-issued fines can now be paid by phone

Sep 28, 2016

It is now possible to pay fines for police-issued penalties via the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service automated phone line.

Testing and enhancement of the system have been completed and recipients of most police tickets are now able to pay using the automated system.

Only endorsable penalties and parking penalties cannot be paid at the moment.

The SCTS developed the automated telephone payment system for fines as part of our commitment to improving the speed and efficiency of business processes to provide customers with greater choice on how to pay their fines.

The system went live on 29 June 2015, initially restricted to Court and COPFS issued penalties, and has now taken in more than 30,000 automated transactions payments amounting to more than £1.9M.
