The Scottish Civil Justice Council and Criminal Legal Assistance Bill having received Royal Assent on 5 March, The Lord President today published a Statement of Appointment Practice setting out the process which will be followed when making appointments to Scottish Civil Justice Council.
The Statement sets out the eligibility, criteria and selection process that will apply when appointing advocate, solicitor, consumer representative and LP members to the Council.
A recruitment exercise will be carried out in the forthcoming months. Further details will be made available in late March.
