It has been a week since we launched our new website and during this time a number of users have been in touch with very helpful feedback which we are very grateful for.
The webteam have been processing the requests as quickly as possible and have been making subtle changes to the website to help make the transition from the old website to the new site as smooth as possible.
Some of the feedback we have received have similar questions so we felt it may be useful to give you an update so you know what we are currently working on.
Search
We are aware that the search on the site isn’t currently searching the forms or documents on the site. We are working on that.
Court Locations / Jurisdictions
There are a number of ways on the new site to find this information.
- Using the menu on the right hand side of the homepage headed up Court Locations you can either:
- use the first drop down list and ‘select a court’,
- click on the map which shows pins on a map of Scotland of court locations or below the map ,
- enter your town or village location and it will suggest your nearest sheriff court and the jurisdiction is it within.
A further option is via the ‘The Courts’ heading on the main navigation bar. Click on Find a court, within the Sheriff Court sub-heading.
Court Location Map
We are working on giving you an additional option when viewing court locations via the map. We plan on giving you an option to find a location by name rather than having to use the controls within the map.
Court Rolls
By default Apple products block popups, some windows browsers i.e. Internet Explorer, also now block popups. Usually you are warned that you have blocked content but not by default on some Apple devices. Please disable your popup blockers when viewing the site if you find content that doesn’t seem to work i.e. Daily Court Business.
The site currently does not support Chrome on Apple iPads.
Instructions on how to disable popup blockers on common browsers can be found here.
Navigation
Issue: Navigation drop down menus are too sensitive or not displaying correctly
- We are aware of this issue and we are working on a solution.
RSS Feeds
We currently have RSS feeds available for the latest news however we are also implementing RSS feeds for the Court Opinions and other areas of the site in the near future.
If you find an issue with the site that isn’t covered above, please send us an email with as much information as possible. The more detail you can supply the easier it is for us to fix or offer a solution.
