All courts, business units and offices were successful in their application for the accreditation which involved submitting hundreds of pieces of evidence to meet dozens of criteria.
“CSE is about genuinely understanding our customers and taking the right steps to meet their needs,” says Interim Chief Executive Eric McQueen. “Putting court users at the centre of our work makes a real difference to our success.
“This achievement reflects a strong team effort and recognises the good work we do on a daily basis for the people who use our service.”
The assessors’ reports revealed a high level of commitment to court users, describing the customer focused culture at the SCS as ‘impressive’.
This is backed-up by a court user survey carried out by independent consultants earlier this year which showed that 83% of respondents were happy with the services they received when visiting Scottish courts.
CSE accreditation is independently assessed and focuses on:
• customer insight
• culture of the organisation
• information and access
• delivery and timeliness
• quality of service.
