Powers of Attorney can now be registered online across Scotland following a successful period of field testing.
The new electronic system went live as scheduled today after being tested by solicitors.
“The procedure is running smoothly and I am very pleased that it is being used more widely,” says Public Guardian Sandra McDonald. “It has already helped to ease pressure off staff who handle around 45,000 registrations per year.”
Forms previously filled-in manually can now be quickly and easily uploaded in a pdf format and registered in just a few days.
OPG staff are undertaking seminars around the country to introduce the system.
